This publication offers the completely refereed post-proceedings of a workshop by means of the Cross-Language review discussion board crusade, CLEF 2002, held in Rome, Italy in September 2002.
The forty three revised complete papers awarded including an advent and run facts in an appendix have been conscientiously reviewed and revised upon presentation on the workshop. The papers are geared up in topical sections on structures overview experiments, pass language and extra, monolingual experiments, quite often domain-specific details retrieval, interactive matters, cross-language spoken record retrieval, and cross-language overview matters and initiatives.

A overview of homes, functionality and actual mechanisms of the most silicon-on-insulator (SOI) fabrics and units. specific realization is paid to the reliability of SOI buildings working in harsh stipulations. the 1st a part of the booklet offers with fabric expertise and describes the SIMOX and ELTRAN applied sciences, the smart-cut process, SiCOI buildings and MBE progress.
Water in and underneath a street pavement has an important influence at the road's functionality and its survivability. This publication offers a state of the art related to water in pavements and the adjoining flooring. It contains assurance of the fundamental idea; the place the water comes from; the way it might (or won't) be tired; the impression of temperature at the circulate; how pursuits should be modelled numerically; and the effect that water content material has on pavement fabric and subgrade behaviour.
The speculation of straightforward and intricate fluids has made enormous contemporary development, end result of the emergence of recent techniques and theoretical instruments, and likewise to the supply of a big physique of recent experimental facts on increas ingly advanced platforms, in addition to far-reaching methodological advancements in numerical simulations.
Because the foreign Institute for utilized structures research all started its examine of water caliber modeling and administration in 1977, it's been attracted to the family among uncertainty and the issues of version calibration and prediction. The paintings has concerned with the subject matter of modeling poorly outlined environmental platforms, a important subject of the trouble dedicated to environmental qc and administration.

88% with decompounding compared with without it. Further improvements in performance obtained with German decompounding are reported in when a slightly different method was used to compute the relative frequencies of component words. The improved decompounding procedure was used to split German compounds for our CLEF 2002 retrieval experiments. A Dutch stoplist of 1326 words was used for Dutch monolingual retrieval. After removing stopwords, the Dutch words were stemmed using the muscat Dutch stemmer.
Topic 55 contains two important compound words, Alpenverkeersplan and Alpeninitiatief. Neither occur in the Dutch document collection. 2137 after decompounding. 2 Bilingual Retrieval Experiments A major factor affecting the end performance of both bilingual retrieval and multilingual retrieval is the quality of translation resources. In this section, we evaluate the effectiveness of three different translation resources: automatic machine translation systems, parallel corpora, and bilingual dictionaries.
These studies generally conclude that as long as sufficient consistency is maintained during judging, the ranking and comparison of systems is stable even if the absolute performance values calculated on the basis of the assessments change. The quality and consistency of the assessments in CLEF is ensured by following a well-proven methodology based on TREC experience. More details of relevance assessment processes can be found in . The problem of coverage arises from practical considerations in the production of the relevance assessments.
