The improved decompounding procedure was used to split German compounds for our CLEF 2002 retrieval experiments. A Dutch stoplist of 1326 words [15] was used for Dutch monolingual retrieval. After removing stopwords, the Dutch words were stemmed using the muscat Dutch stemmer.
