Between 5500 bce and 3300 bce they lived in great coastal villages along the Caribbean, dining on lobster and crab while their poorer neighbors ate beans and squash. After 3300 bce, many Mayas migrated up river valleys and became farmers.
After World War I, Mexico was not allowed into the League of Nations because it was considered a rebel nation.
